Volleyball Australia hosts inaugural HP Beach Volleyball Coaching Summit

Over the past few months, Volleyball Australia’s High Performance team has been working to strengthen coach engagement and workforce capability within the Beach Volleyball National Coaching Team, supported by an Outstanding People and Organisations Grant through the Australian Institute of Sport.

A key milestone in this process was the inaugural High Performance Beach Volleyball Coaching Summit, which brought together national program coaches for a series of collaborative sessions focused on building stronger alignment across the program.

The summit created space for open and honest discussions around the group’s shared identity, goals, values and behaviours, while also providing an opportunity to strengthen connections between coaches working across different parts of the national pathway.

Volleyball Australia National Performance Director Craig Marshall said the Summit represented an important step in continuing to develop the program’s coaching network.

“The High Performance Beach Volleyball Coaching Summit was an important opportunity to bring our coaches together, strengthen relationships and ensure we’re aligned on the standards and behaviours that underpin our program,” Marshall said.

“Investing in our coaching workforce is critical to the long-term success of beach volleyball in Australia. When our coaches are connected, supported and clear on our shared direction, it ultimately benefits the athletes across the entire pathway.”

The initiative forms part of Volleyball Australia’s broader focus on building capability within its coaching workforce, recognising the vital role coaches play in athlete development and sustained high performance outcomes.

The project and summit were guided and facilitated by Mathew Grey and Georgia Ridler from Performance Potential, who supported the High Performance team in designing conversations and activities aimed at building clarity and cohesion within the national coaching group.

Volleyball Australia also acknowledges the support of the FIVB Empowerment program, which contributed to staff resourcing and helped strengthen delivery across the project.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
