MEXICO CITY, October 1 (EL UNIVERSAL).- The Mexican actress Cecilia Priego, known for her participation in the series “La Reina del Sur”, died last Saturday, September 30th. at the age of 36. Although the cause of death has not been confirmed by the family, it is believed that it was cervical cancer that took his life, a disease he had already overcome twice.
The news was announced by her father, Mr. Freddy Persa, through an emotional message that he posted on social networks. In it, he not only said that he was devastated by his daughter’s departure, but also emphasized the strength with which he faced her situation because she was a woman who loved life.
“I don’t remember the day, the time, but since this battle with your illness began, I always began to write and thank God for your fall and your rise. You have always proven your strength, your faith and your desire to live like a tireless warrior and two “Sometimes you conquered this disease and always enjoyed your life,” he wrote along with a collage with several photos of the actress.
“A better place, away from the pain”
Despite the pain, Cecilia’s father also said he was grateful for the time they were able to live together and, above all, calm because he was sure that his daughter was now in a better place, far away from the pain: “Today is going My flock is doing very well.” sad: “One of my sheep is leaving me. I am sure God will accept it. Thank you, Lord, for lending it to me. I’m giving it back to you because I’m sure it will be in a better place,” he added.

Cecilia is originally from Tabasco and studied cultural management and promotion. However, at the end of his professional training, he decided to go in search of his dreams and joined CDMX in 2007 with the intention of finding a place in the world of acting.
He studied acting at the Luis Felipe Tovar School and developed a large part of his career in theater. It was in 2021 when Prego first developed cancer and even had to undergo a hysterectomy (surgery to remove the uterus) to save her life. But the disease returned again in August this year, according to his reports on social media, when a second tumor was discovered for which he had to undergo chemotherapy.
